ITSSAR Safety Training Course

Course Information

  • At the course end successful candidates should be able to operate the machine both safely and efficiently.

  • Learn how to safety and effectively operate a Bobcat / Skid Steer.

    On completion of the course, you will be familiar with the basic skill requirements and job safety knowledge required for safe and effective operation of Telehandler trucks. The course includes machine familiarisation, controls, daily checks, refuelling and battery procedures, steering, load weight assessment and handling, stacking racking, awkward loads and vehicle loading and unloading and much more.

    Current Legislation, including:

    • Introduction & Aims

    • Responsibility of the operator

    • Operational Safety Code

    Current Legislation, including:

    • Health & Safety at Work Act Etc. 1974

    • LOLER 1998

    • PUWER 1998

    • Attachments for a Telehandler truck

    • Vehicle Stability & the purpose of safe load indicators

    • Correct loading and off loading of vehicles

  • • Daily Pre-Operative Checks and Maintenance

    • Use of all controls

    • Refuelling / Recharging

    • Simple Manoeuvring

    • Advanced Manoeuvring

    • Safe Working Loads, including identifying various types of loads

    • Stacking & De-stacking

    • Risk Assessment

    • Practical Test of Competence

As a result of successful completion of the training & tests, delegates will receive full certification.
